For acquisition mailings, your station provides your suppression files. Greater Public does the rest. We tailor the copy to your station, print all package components and handle the merge/purge. Here’s how acquisition mail works:

  1. Submit your acquisition list co-op participation form by the deadline to order your acquisition names.
  2. Enter Greater Public mail collaborative as your mail production “vendor.”
  3. You will receive a letter of agreement to sign for the mail collaborative exclusive of list rental cost.
  4. Provide your house files. Include your active, lapsed, and prospect names. Let us know if you want to mail your lapsed names as well. Mailing lapsed with your acquisition generates higher response. Reacquiring lapsed members is essential to a strong membership program.

Lapsed Mail Copy and Production Collaborative

For lapsed mail, you choose the mail date. Many stations are thrilled with the results achieved with Greater Public’s lapsed segmentation recommendations. Simply send us your lapsed files.

We tailor the copy to your station for your approval and print all package components. With your approval of final proofs, it’s inserted and in the mail. Our lapsed mailings are all two efforts. Donors send proceeds directly to the station.

For fiscal year-end, calendar year-end and pre-drive add-gift mailings, your station provides current member file segments selected for the add-gift solicitation and Greater Public does the rest: successful customized copy, personalization, letter prep and production, insertion, and mailing. Donors send proceeds directly to the station.

After renewals, your current members are the best source of additional dollars for your station. They can often generate net revenue that is 5-15 times the investment cost. Planning an annual schedule of add gift mailings is essential to every successful membership program. The Greater Public direct mail copy and production collaborative is convenient, reliable, and affordable.

Here’s how add-gift mail works:

  1. You will receive a timeline for deliverables and a letter of agreement to sign.
  2. Your customized copy will be sent to you for approval.
  3. All add-gift campaigns include two efforts, as the second effort provides at least 50% additional revenue.
  4. You provide your member mail files.
  5. We print all components and, with your approval of final proofs, your mail is inserted and in the mail.
  6. Donors send proceeds directly to the station.

Cost, Deadline and Contact Information

Acquisition Mail

$265 per 1,000 plus postage (postage estimate $150 per 1000). Plus the cost incurred for the acquisition list rental. Minimum production cost is $1,500.

Lapsed Mail

$250 per 1,000 pieces mailed. These campaigns are two mail efforts. So cost is two times the number of lapsed names you send. Estimate postage as $150 per 1,000 pieces mailed. Minimum production cost is $1,500.

Add-Gift Mail

Greater Public member stations: $310 per thousand for copy and production. Postage can be estimated at $150 per thousand. Minimum mail quantity is 5,000 pieces or more for four efforts of mail at the cost of $310 per thousand. If quantity is below 5,000, the minimum charge is $1,500.

Deadlines

  • Acquisition Mail: Same as list co-op.
  • Lapsed Mail: Deadlines vary with your station needs.
  • Add Gift Mail: Deadlines vary with your station needs.
  • Fiscal Year-End Mail: March 31, 2017 for fiscal year that ends on June 30; for fiscal years that end on other dates, deadlines will vary according to station needs.
