Description
WVTF Development Director reports to General Manager. The position provides leadership and coordinates all aspects of fundraising activities for WVTF Public Radio (Radio IQ news and WVTF Music). Duties include: developing a comprehensive operating plan to outline goals and strategies; creating and implementing a balanced departmental budget; setting realistic revenue goals with station management. Regular activities include: planning and implementing the station’s major giving initiatives (55% of regular work); oversee individual giving fundraising including collaboration with station programming staff for on-air fundraising; supervise corporate underwriting. Key staff member in planning and executing station’s marketing and advertising, and for the station’s special events. Work with the General Manager as ex officio member of the WVTF RADIO IQ Friends Council to promote support for the radio station. WVTF/Radio IQ is a community service of Virginia Tech and located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in central Virginia.
