Nonprofit Underwriting Sales Executive
Bend, OR-based nonprofit broadcaster seeks underwriting sales professional for weekly podcasts. Skeptoid is an iTunes Top-10 science podcast since 2006, we promote general science literacy and critical thinking through detailed analysis of popular urban legends. We are 85% supported by premium listeners and 15% by underwriting sponsors, and seeking to shift that balance farther toward corporate underwriters. We also produce documentary films and plan public broadcasting television programming which will also require underwriting.
Successful experience selling sponsored messages to corporate underwriters into nonprofit podcast and broadcast inventory is essential.
Part-time (20 hours per week) to start, with transition to full-time if volume targets are reached. This is a W-2 employee position. No benefits at this time.
Qualifications we seek:
Associate degree in a related field or two years of equivalent experience.
Ability to write professional correspondence using correct grammar and spelling.
Ability to offer excellent communication and customer service via telephone or in person.
Ability to be self-managed and take ownership of the position.
Ability to keep conversations and information confidential as appropriate.
Experience working in public media, development, fundraising or sales.
Knowledge of CRMs helpful.
Passion for science, critical thinking, and making the world a better place by sharing the tools
to help people discern what’s real from what’s not.
Permanent studio in Bend OR. We strongly prefer a local candidate, but are open to remote a working situation.
