Blue Ridge Public Radio is seeking a local business sponsorship representative. The position is responsible for sales for this market leading radio station and digital media. The right individual for this position will be charged with helping our local sales team succeed by delivering customer solutions through integrated marketing strategies. The ideal candidate will have a background as a professional in marketing sales, radio advertising and non-profit fundraising.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up meetings with marketing executives and/or owners of businesses throughout the Western North Carolina region
  • Prospect new leads and cold call potential sponsors in the advertising and business community
  • Achieve monthly and quarterly sales goals
  • Development and delivery of client/agency sales presentations
  • Propose on-air and digital schedules for current and potential clients
  • Integrate audience research in presentations
  • Create multi-platform sponsorship opportunities for potential clients
  • Participate in on-going sales training
  • Attend client lunches/dinners and community outreach initiatives
  • Work with Supervisor and Program Director to obtain on-air and web copy approval
  • Stay abreast of market trends and competitive activity in commercial and public radio and online media sales
  • Comply with all Blue Ridge Public Radio and department policies and guidelines
  • This position requires use of a computer, telephone and other office and/or broadcast equipment; ability to communicate effectively through a variety of methods
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed, including some evenings and weekends
  • Other duties as assigned
