Pro-actively provides fiscal, event, project and professional support under the direct supervision of WUCF Executive Director. Advises and assists the Executive Director in the development, evaluation, and implementation of department goals and objectives. Independently manages research, fiscal, and event based projects with competing deadlines and priorities. Serves as principal point of contact with external and internal constituencies. Exercises independent judgment in making decisions that in some instances involve sensitive or controversial issues. Handles information in confidential, professional and discreet manner. Serves as station representative with external constituencies, presenting information to community organizations to further the community service mission of WUCF. Displays a high level of discretion, maturity, diplomacy, and judgment in responding to or anticipating issues that may arise.
Assists Executive Director’s with community events and meetings. Develops, plans, manages, and schedules community events, station tours, and develops materials for community relationships based on differing constituency demands. Independently prepares or edits speeches, presentations, and talking points on a wide variety of topics and for a variety of constituents. Works occasional nights and weekends at events, sometimes representing Executive Director at meetings and speaking engagements. Excellent writing, presentation development, and basic graphic design skills are critical. Creativity and accuracy in professional communications for public dissemination critical. Knowledge of Photoshop, In Design, and ability to create flyer’s and professional presentations preferred.
Serves as fiscal assistant to Executive Director, responsible for managing Executive Director’s budget, travel, purchasing, and budgetary liaison with WUCF Director of Finance. Serves as payroll back up approver and co-approves travel related items related to PCard transactions and processes purchase requisitions for travel related expenses for the executive director. Coordinate and schedule local, regional and national legislative meetings. Follow-up with deadlines, provide supporting materials, documents, files, take meeting minutes and follow up with appropriate reports and deliverables.
Serves as research coordinator for Executive Director, utilizing standard media analytic tools such as Media Audit, Nielsen Television and Radio Ratings, and others. Coordinates with national organizations such as Americas Public Television Stations (APTS), National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA), the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) to respond to research requests. Coordinates research projects as directed by Executive Director, maintaining collaborative research relationships with UCF Marketing, UCF colleges and UCF faculty.
Coordinates Executive Director’s organization-wide initiatives for budgeting, personnel, staff development, and other projects as assigned by Executive Director.
Coordinates Executive Director’s daily schedule. Attend WUCF meetings and other meetings on behalf of the Executive Director; initiate, finalize, and distribute meeting agendas and supporting documentation. Take notes and complete summaries of meeting discussion on behalf of the Executive Director, including tasks discussed, assignment of accountability, and next steps for review and distribution by Executive Director.
Maintains station wide public calendar for staff planning and communications purposes
